Marvel's Wolverine Analysis | The Deadpool Problem Nobody is Talking About
Marvel's Wolverine launches September 15, 2026 on PS5, and after watching the Marvel's Wolverine story trailer twice I think Insomniac Games is about to do to Wolverine what they did to Spider-Man. Marvel's Wolverine feels like God of War Ragnarok meets Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Story driven, brutal, emotionally heavy, and closer in tone to Logan than anything Insomniac has made before. Marvel's Wolverine is not an open world game. Game director Mike Daly confirmed the studio never set out to build a sandbox, calling it a linear single player adventure instead. Ratchet and Clank already proved this team can build tight linear paths with vast open areas inside them, and that formula fits Logan better than a map full of icons ever would. My friend Eric Monacelli, executive producer at Marvel Games, was on the Marvel's Wolverine: Deep Cuts panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con 2026.
